Treaty of waitangi

Here is a link of my modelling book link
Here is a link of the follow up we did link
Here is a link of the activity link

The two things I found interesting were
- The thing that I interesting was learning about the different treaty's
-The other thing that I found interesting that there was more than one treaty

The thing that I would like to find more about is how long did it take for all the people to sign the treaty?

Maths- Read any fraction,order fraction's with the same denominator,Count forwards /backwards in 1/2 1/3 1/4 1/5 and 1/10

What I found easy and what I found challenging?

-For Identify the fraction the thing I found easy was counting the fraction to make the answer to the question and the thing I found challenging was remembering to count all the lines that there were.

-For Arithmetic sequences with fractions the thing I found easy was adding the next number on the end the thing I found challenging was when the numbers were all in different orders and you had to try make the denominator the same and what you did to the one below you had to do to the top.

-For Identify fractions on number lines the thing I found easy was counting where the dot was on the lines and then adding them up but there was nothing I found challenging.

I can describe the characteristics of music from songs of a different time and place
Over the past 7 weeks I have been learning to describe the characteristics of music from songs of a different time and place

I can describe these characteristics in a piece of music
Harmony:is a sad or happy song
melody:is parts of a song that repeats and that is catchy
rythem: is the special part of the song and how it is put together
timbre: is the instruments that make the song unique
form: is the way how the song is made

Here is an example of my learning music

Student Led Conference Reflection

The things I enjoyed most about my SLC were: Sharing my learning with my family and talking about what we do in our learning area .

What went well and why?sharing my asttle test and it went well because i got to show my learning and hearing what my mum and dad had to say.

What were the challenges you faced when preparing and presenting your SLC?what my mum and dad had to say about my learning.

What changes would you make for next time and why?Show around the class room because I did not show them because i had no time.

On Tuesday the year 7/8's go to technology

On the way to technology I was talking to the person next to me.

I sat next to Jacinta and Tatiana on the way there and back.

The noise level in the bus was ok. Because people were not talking to the people next to them.

My next step is to...try sit with different people.

My Short Story

communicate precise meaning related to the topic (Year ⅚)
Use basic punctuation that is mostly correct. This includes capital letters, full stops , commas, question marks, exclamation marks, apostrophes and speech marks. (Year ⅚)

The pieces of my writing that are highlighted green are where I have shown my vocabulary and punctuation goal

My Story...

Once there was a a 21 year old boy in the forest. The boys name is Anakin. He is all alone in the forest. He is felling sad because when he was young his family left him.Ever since he alone in the forest .He has no house .He has been looking for things to make his house out of.It was getting late so Anakin went under a big tree to sleep.

The next day Anakin was a wake.He got some vines for string and some bark for wood .Then Anakin was starting to make a hammer. When he was done he went to get somethings for the tree that he was under for the night. When Anakin got back to the tree he had some pieces of bark off a tree.

Anakin started to making a tree house. Anakin also had some vines to tie the wood with. His hammer is so sharp that in the big trunk of the tree he made a door .He started digging out the inside of the tree.

Suddenly a big noise crashed on the ground. Anakin did not know what it was. Until he saw smoke up in the air . So then he went to go look. Anakin won't forget where his tree is because Anakin's tree is the biggest tree and the tallest tree in the forest.

When he was strolling around Anakin saw a space ship in the ground. Suddenly the weather changes there is a storm coming.

The next day Anakin went to where the space ship is. The storm went away. At end Anakin looked in the space ship and then he lived happy every after since he found someone in the space ship he meet someone in the space ship and Anakin will never be alone ever again. The person in the space ship was a girl named Lucy she was not that shy.

I can describe the structure of a Short Story

Something I have learned about the structure of short stories is:...there is always a problem and a way to fix them .

After reading some short stories two things I will remember when I write my own short story are ……make it entertaining and … have a interesting problem.

Cycle safe

In term 3 and 4 we did cycle safety.
I thought I did well a the right turns.

I can read and interpret a range of graphs

For maths I have been learning to read and interpret a range of graphs. This relates to the National Standards as it meets the criteria of:
  • I can identify patterns and trends in context, within and between data sets (Year ⅚
    • standard)

Here is link to my Statistical Literacy spreadsheet which shows all of the graphs and tables I can read and interpret.

I have also compared and contrasted some of the graphs. Below are the links to them

My next step is to use these in my leadership investigation next term.

Term 1 Integrated Learning - Leadership

We have been learning all about What makes a good leader.

We identified that good leaders show 6 main character traits. These are…trustworthy, resilient, integrity, goal focused, active thinker, motivational

The leadership trait that I think I show the most is…active thinker because…when i do not know something i just try and ask for help if i get stuck on the leader actives.

The leadership trait I would most like to develop is…goal focused because…so i can finish it on time.

Something NEW I have learned about leadership is…
The SOLO level that I reached during this unit of learning is………..because………
(see slide 2 of the leadership modelling book for this)

My next step in learning about leadership is to apply everything that I have learned about leadership to my own leadership roles.

Striking and Frielding

WALT: Apply Striking and Fielding activities in a range of sports and activities.

My Strengths The striking strategies I was able to effectively demonstrate during the games we played were…….Holding the bat hardly and moving forward to wack the ball and looking at it while wacking it.

The throwing and catching strategies I was able to effectively demonstrate during the games we played were…….I was good at hitting the ball.
My Next Steps To improve my striking of a ball I need to…is making the ball go more away because…it only went all little bit.

To Improve my catching and fielding I need to…use soft hands because…it makes it easier to catch it

The game that I enjoyed the most was…the bating and catching game because…it was fun and challenging

Merit evideince 2016 blog post 3 term 1

Bus to technology,

I was being a good role model by talking to the person next to me and not shouting to people across the bus. I was also sitting in my seat and not standing up. Things I need to work on is choosing the right people to sit with.

I talked about what I did not the weekends and what we did  at technology. On the way back from technology I sat will a different person. We were not talking loud in the bus. At school I said thanks to the bus driver for the ride.

merit evideince 2016 blog post 1 term 1

Makyla and I did  peer mediation at morning tea we begin by getting our vest on and the card. we looked around the places where there would mostly have arguments. we looked around room 1. we looked around the senior playground and the tree near the play ground.

Then on the field and in the little kids part we looked near the sand pit and on the music room deck we kept on looking around the school until the bell rang. I tried really hard not to smile and laugh like always do. when the bell rang we took of our vest and our card.
